Quality Education in the Breede Valley

Between February and May this year, Valley FM broadcast a series of 3 talk shows, looking at how we can help support quality education for our children in the Breede Valley. Each programme focused on a specific topic:

1) How to improve parents' involvement in their children's education.

2) How to create a safe school environment that supports learning.

3) How to ensure we have quality education by helping teachers and headmasters do their jobs.

For more detail and background on the series, you can see

We now want to continue the conversation by allowing you to have your say on this website.

From time to time we will pose a question for discussion, and we invite you to contribute your comments.

Our first issue is:

Do you think that improving parents' involvement in their children's education will help improve the quality of education?

If so, what are some ways to help support increased parental involvement?

What are some of the obstacles standing in the way of parents' involvement? Do you have any ideas about how we can overcome these?

Do you have personal experiences in this area that you would like to share?
